VALENTINE'S DAY AND SAINT PATRICK'S DAY 2024

    This year some important celebrations have coincided with the weekend and for this reason we had to work on them before or after the date.

    Valentine's Day was during the carnival. We were working on it with presentations, worksheets and some arts and crafts before the date.

 

    And now it is St. Patrick's Day, a very important event in Ireland and wherever Irish people live.

    We started by remembering or learning about the origin of this celebration, and some important legends and traditions around it, such as the leprechaun and his pot of gold.

    The students really enjoyed participating in the different activities and arts and crafts.

    The youngest ones made shamrocks to decorate the board in the school hall. They listened to Irish music and even danced a traditional dance.

    The others watched a video telling the story of St. Patrick. They learnt vocabulary and made crafts:

    A door hanger, a mini-book and a greeting card. They also carried out other activities related to this event.

 

 

     Our school now has a green air and a spring spirit!!

 

SCHOOL DAY OF NON VIOLENCE AND PEACE - 3Oth JANUARY

    Throughout the year we encourage our students to be kind, to be tolerant, to help others and every January 30th, as usual, we celebrate this important date in our school, from the youngest to the oldest students.

Every year our students learn the origin of this celebration, and teachers and students make different works and arts related to this subject.

We watched a presentation to remember some important facts and then we made Mini Books.

The whole educational community gathered around a big dove painted on the ground representing Peace. The students read messages and then we sang a song using sign language to close the event. 

It was a very exciting day!

THANKSGIVING DAY 2023

 Thanksgiving day – November 2023

Our students learn about different European traditions and also about traditions related to English – speaking countries.

For this reason, every year we talk about Thanksgiving Day in our school.

They really enjoy getting closer to different cultures and traditions, improving their English skills and also expanding their culture.

    Every year, this is an important event in England.

    In 1605. November 5th Guy Fawkes and a group of men tried to blow up the Government and kill the king James I.

    They were discovered and since 1606 people celebrate this date with bonfires, fireworks,…

    It is a very important date for English people and they won’t forget it.
