SCHOOL DAY OF NON VIOLENCE AND PEACE
January 30
Since 1964 pupils and teachers have been celebrating the School Day of Nonviolence and Peace in schools all over the world.
In CPI As Mirandas we have been working on it. Our students have learnt that the first person who decided to celebrate this special day on this date was Lorenzo Vidal. He chose this date to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s death.
We have decorated the classroom doors with drawings and messages. We coloured a big poster about Peace, we also made mini-books related to this topic.
To close this celebration we went out onto the school playground and there we read our messages of Peace and sang a song together.
